Ras el Tin Palace
Ras El-Tin is one of Alexandria's most important and ancient neighborhoods.
This neighborhood is located in the far north of the city, where it occupies the western part of the ancient "Pharos" peninsula. It overlooks the western port of the city.
The Alexandrians call it (a maritime neighborhood) to distinguish it from the rest of Alexandria. The area was called by this name, as it was planted in it the fig trees that produced the finest fruits.
And he was one of the first years of age in that region, the governor, "Muhammad Ali Pasha", so he was the first to establish Muhammad Ali Pasha in Alexandria, "Saray Ras El-Teen" - where he chose that site on the peninsula to build upon him the greatest and most luxurious palaces ever and to make him a summer palace to manage Egypt's affairs. The palace was built in 1830 and then rebuilt during the reign of King Fouad until it now resembles the Abdin Palace.
The palace consists of: - The basement: and it contains the round hall that leads to the ladder leading to the berth of the guarded ship. - The ground floor: It includes the Salon of the Haramlek, with its splendor and grandeur, and the wings of the servants, then the second round hall, where King Farouk signed a document abdication.
As for the first floor, it contains the salons attached to the Throne Hall, then the spacious and luxurious Throne Hall. It was called the Hall of Firemen, then the main banquet hall, in addition to the round hall, King Farouk Pavilion, Queen Nariman Pavilion, then the large salon with a fresco that overlooks (Mahrousa Port).
And the history of the great palace continues to bear witness to the events of Jassam, such as the death of the governor Muhammad Ali Pasha, founder of the modern state and the death of the governor of Egypt, "Muhammad Saeed Pasha".
He also witnessed the departure of King "Faruq" from the land of Egypt from the Serail on July 26 of 1952 after he abdicated the throne to his son the Prince. Ahmed Fouad. Let us end this era of the Alawite and royal family in Egypt
